Debt Free

Four years ago Nick and I got serious about paying off our debt. I had student loans and it always seemed like we were tracking up medical expenses. I read Dave Ramsey's books and we became gazelle intense with plenty of hurdles along the way.

All of the work we've done on our house has been paid for with cash. When we outgrew our old car, we paid cash for out new one. When Nick bought his boat last fall, we paid cash.

When I quit my job to stay at home with the kids we still had over $7000 in student loans left. It was a leap of faith. I knew that I needed to be home with my babies and I knew they needed me. We needed structure in our lives.

Despite quitting my job October 10st, we were able to pay off the balance on my student loan last week! "Baby Step 2", DONE!

We're going to work on a bigger emergency fund next. Which with Murphy living in our guest room year round, we'll need it!

Out long term financial goal its to past off our house by the time we turn 35. I think we will get there too. Even with hurdles and mountains and Murphy!

This Denney family is debt free. It feels great to be weird!
